What an incredible show! Maynard’s 60th birthday celebration continues with a stop at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City. Wow! What a celebration it was. The Primus, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle lineup blended so well together. I have seen each of the bands on their own, but once again WOW! Together it seemed like it brought out the best in each musician on stage that night.

The setlist (see below) was well thought out, showcasing some of the best each band has in their expansive music portfolios. Laid out like a play, the show was presented in three acts, with each band performing songs in each.

Act 1 opened with A Perfect Circle performing “The Package” from their 2003 album Thirteenth Step. Such a great choice to start the night. They continued with “Disillusioned” and “The Contrarian” before being joined on stage by Primus to perform “Those Damned Blue‐Collar Tweekers”, “To Many Puppies”, and a couple from their Sailing the Seas of Cheese album “American Life” and “Here Come the Bastards”. Puscifer ended the first act with “Galileo”, “Tiny Monsters” and “Indigo Children”.

Act 2 was filled with more great music. With Primus opening this time, they played some of their classics, “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver”, “My Name Is Mud” and “Tommy the Cat”. Puscifer joined and played “Flippant”, “Momma Sed”, “Bullet Train” and “Underwhelming”. Finishing off Act 2 was A Perfect Circle performing “The Hollow”, “So Long Fish”, “Weak” and “The Outsider “before Intermission which gave everyone a chance to really take in this fantastic show.

Act 3 solidified for me this show being the best I have seen yet this year. Puscifer’s “The Remedy”, A Perfect Circle’s “The Noose” and an incredible version of Primus’s “South Bound Pachyderm” being a few. With all on stage the finale began. “Kindred”, “No Angels”, “Pablo’s Hippos” and “Grand Canyon” to end the nights event.
